Happy New Year (in February...)

So, it's time for me to say "Happy New Year!"

This may seem odd on the 15th February, but I think now I can safely say this. The weather is grey and wet where I am sat today (outside anyway, I have the fortune of a roof over my head while I type) but I can say that the new year in the garden is on its way... and here's why.

I went for a walk last week and I saw blossom in the trees! Cherry tree too, which makes me think of March, so we really must have had a mild winter. Let’s hope that there is no nasty weather on its way to put a stop to it.

All you need is love, gloves are all you need

We are potentially going to be spending more time in the garden now days are getting longer so why not treat yourself or someone to the stylish new Grey Tweed Love The Glove by Burgon & Ball. Available in S/M or M/L. £15 and FREE P&P!

Yesterday and today saw the first RHS event of the year, the Early Spring Plant Fair in London which showcased the best of spring bulbs and offered interesting talks and previews into the Chelsea gardens as well as tours of the Lindley Library, somewhere I'm sure I would find very interesting. Visit the RHS Flower Shows List page for future event dates.

National Nestbox week always runs from 14th February, so yesterday saw the beginning this year. Click on the pic to take you to a great nest box option, available in three different colours. Makes no difference to the birds which colour you chose, just a matter of your personal taste. These nesting boxes are just £12 each, but take a look at the selection of slight seconds available too...

Just before I go...
